StillThere!

Hi,

long time no see! I was really busy those days! Worked, shootings, windsusrfing...
It will be really long to explain all the things I did! What I can say, it is a Met lot's of people from different country! Shaper, pro & "simple" riders, visitors! My camera also work a lot! I don't really know how much I take...but I can tell you that my 20D is still hot!

I sailed quiet a lot too! We had a bad week but the sweel and wind were back! Kanaha, CampOne, Sprecks and, of course, Hookipa were the spots were I sailed!

I alse been at Haleakala for a second time with some friends!! Still nice!!

MyBirthdayInHookipa!

After couple of quiet day, for me, not for wind, I had my best present for my 24th birthday: I sailed in Hookipa! The most famous windsurf spot in the world! Sure it was not a big waves session but it was perfect for a first time there!

I sailed with my friend Piwi (who is leaving Maui wednesday) and some other guys from the hostel! I rig with my Hammer 4.7 and a custum board from Goya!

Big swell is coming for the end of the week and also my friend Nicolas Akgazciyan is coming too and arrive tomorrow!

DaySevenAndEightOfMonthOne_SurfInKanaha

Yesterday and today, Piwi and I went to kanaha for sailing. Wind was good for 4.2 yesterday and 4.7 today! Waves was 2m high, more sometimes.
You can really enjoy surfing here, make 5/6 or 7 bottum-turns in the biggest set! It takes a bit of time to have the good timing in the wave but Kanaha is not so difficult, I did my first aerials there so, as the days before, I'm quiet happy about my 7th and 8th days in Maui!

DaySixOfMonthOne_LaPerouseBayAndCampOne

Today, we chile out just a while and go to La Perouse Bay with Piwi and Martin. La Perouse bay is on the South/West coast of Maui! It take like an hour and a half from Paia to go there! The S/O coast is a really touristic place and also really desertic!

La Perouse Bay is situate in the middle of a laval road came from the Haleakala!
Watch the pictures and enjoy!

After our little touristic tour we are back on the North Shore of Maui, the wind is light but we try to go sailing in Camp One, a spot up-wind of Kanaha.

I'm sailing with my Hammer 4.7. Waves are little but good for jump and surf!
We stay a big hour then wind come done and it was allready shark-time so...!

DayFiveOfMonthOne_BigJumpInKanahaAndHaleakala

Today in Kanaha Uppers was crazy! Really windy has yesterday, I rig my Hammer 4.2 then cross the Kanaha lagon to surf and jump at the reef. The wave direction is not really the good one in Maui for surfing, so waves are really shopy but it is really good for jumping!

As yesterday, I'm really happy about my sailing, my Hammer is perfect is perfect for this kind of condition. On the first way out I did a big forward loop! Perfectly landed! Then I tried couple of backloops, like yesterday is really go high, such a nice view...it is coming soon!

After the session in Kanaha, I been with some german friends to the really famous volcan of Haleakala for sunset! We arrived there just in time for it, but because of a battery problem of my camera I...just missed it, so no pictures of it, but some of after sunset!

For the story, the Haleakala is 10000feet = 3048m high BUT the main part of this mountain is behind the pacific ocean, 19700 feet or 6000m!

DayFourOfMonthOne_KanahaUppersBigSession

At the moment, yesterday was for me, my biggest day on water! I start to sail between 11H30/12h at Kanaha Uppers as the days before. I went sailing with my friend Piwi and a German guy from the the hostel. During one hour it was perfect with my 4.7. After that the wind and waves picked up strong then I rig my 4.2, back on water, waves are biggers. Kauli Seadi, world wave champion (twicee) making the show with double forwards and massive backloops!

I'm really about about my sailing day! I did my first backloops and forwards in Maui! You can go really high in here with the power of the waves!

Also, the days before I have seen whales and turtles, today I saw (what it look like a) shark! A small one, like one meter! Not sure that was a shark but someone else saw it too so...let's say that was a shark like this is done!

DayTwoOfMonthOne_KanahaUppers

Today, as yesterday, Piwi come to search me at the hostel then, because we were not sure about waves, we look out for sailing at Sprecks, Camp One but we finsih at Kanaha as yesterday! Kanaha wasn't working but Kanaha Uppers was the best of the worst today!

I sailed with my Hammer 4.7 and try Piwi's twinzer (two fins) by Quatro! Wind was gusty in the lagon but strong in the reef! also waves were not good as yesterday! I did couple of jump, it is so impressive that waves are so powerfull, I mean it is so different than where I sailed before! A little wave here can make you fly!

Piwi did not want to sail with me so he took couple of pictures of me! Waves are so far from the beach that is not really intresting on pictures!

After sailing, Piwi show me the montain near Kahului call Iao Valley... so peacefull!
